Academic Collaboration Between Deka Elektronik and Istanbul Arel University

The scientific study titled “Reflective Optical Sensing–Based Control of the Turkish Coffee Brewing Process,” prepared through the collaboration between Deka Elektronik and Istanbul Arel University, was presented at the 13th International Göbeklitepe Scientific Studies Congress.

Focusing on the control of the Turkish coffee brewing process using reflective optical sensing, the study brings together engineering experience in electronics and embedded systems with academic knowledge.

Optical Sensing in the Turkish Coffee Brewing Process

The study explores the use of reflective optical sensing technology to control the Turkish coffee brewing process. Within this approach, a method for monitoring and controlling the brewing process through optical sensing was investigated.

The study represents one of the university-industry collaborations that brings together Deka Elektronik’s engineering capabilities in R&D and embedded systems with the academic expertise of Istanbul Arel University.

University-Industry Collaboration

From the Deka Elektronik R&D Center, our R&D Manager Serkan Şengül, Senior Embedded Software Engineer Soner Patan, and R&D Engineer Salih Açıkel contributed to the study.

On the academic side, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ömer Işık, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Istanbul Arel University, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Ünal Küçük took part in the study.

At Deka Elektronik, we consider our collaborations with universities an important part of our R&D activities, bringing together academic knowledge and industry engineering experience while supporting our R&D efforts.

We continue to combine our knowledge and experience in electronics, embedded systems, and technology development with academic research, strengthen university-industry collaboration, and contribute to scientific studies.
